The work of the service includes:

Information, education, advice and support for providers of palliative care in the region. |

Education for patients, carers, families, volunteers, and the community. |

Innovative palliative care clinical and social interventions, care provision, and outcome measures. |
|
Conferences, Courses, Workshops, on site In-service Education in all types of facilities and settings where palliative care is practised. |
|
Promotion of palliative care services – encouraging earlier access to palliative care. |
|
Promotion of best practise in palliative care. |
|
Seeking funding for projects, research and education. |
|
Maintaining strong links and working relationships with service providers, the Department of Human Services, Educational institutions, professional associations and bodies, and with volunteers and the community. |
