Loddon Mallee Palliative Care is proud to offer a four day specialist program to nurses in our region. The course is relevant to all care settings and explores the complex and comprehensive needs of the dying and Their families. It also provides an overview of common issues that confront professional carers on a day-to-day basis. The course will be assessed in line with workplace trainer competency assessment.

A four-day Introduction to Palliative Care Course for Regional Nurses to upgrade their skills and hopefully embark on further Post Graduate studies in Palliative Care.

Held in Bendigo at the Anne Caudle Centre
The course has been endorsed for Royal College of Nursing for 25 CPD points

As well as knowledge and confidence gained by individuals, this course will provide networking opportunities, resource and contact people to promote ongoing best practice for clients and their carers facing end of life crisis.
Network of certificated palliative care nurses across the Loddon Mallee region means a more equitable knowledge base in rural areas .
The experience gained through the course will enable the participants to care for people with incurable conditions using current best practice principles in palliative care (according to Palliative Care Australia Best Practice Guidelines 2005).
Loddon Mallee Palliative Care also benefits from ongoing communication with participants, who will feedback concerns and suggest opportunities for improving and developing palliative care services and education and support.
LMPC can represent and advocate on behalf of the LMR for needs at State and National level.
